Join the Kent Conservation District and Forest Hills High School at Cascade’s Burton Park to help control and learn about invasive species in our community.

Volunteers are needed to help control several aggressive non-native invasive species, including oriental bittersweet, at Cascade’s Burton Park. Treatment will involve cut stump and herbicide application on targeted species growing unchecked.

Learn about nonnative invasive species that alter ecosystem processes in complex ways. All ages are invited to attend. The day will be led by Kent Conservation District’s STRIKE team.

No RSVP required. Walk ins welcome. For questions call the KCD office at 616.222.5801

Volunteers are welcome to stay for an hour or the entire morning. Wear warm clothes, long sleeves, pants and closed toed shoes. All snacks, supplies, gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided by the strike team.
