Matt Soehnel – District Conservationist

Matt SoehnelMatt has been the District Conservationist for over 13 years. He enjoys helping Kent County resident’s conserve their soil, water, air, plant, and other natural resources. To get started, NRCS first works one-on-one with you to develop a conservation plan that meets your goals and vision for the land. This becomes a roadmap for which conservation practices best meet your needs. He can assist you with any EQIP questions. https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/main/national/programs/financial/eqip/

Example, through NRCS you can receive technical and/or financial assistance to create permanent or seasonal pollinator habitat to provide a large abundance of pollen and nectar, expand the availability of blooming plants, and to add or protect potential nesting sites (just to list a few). With help from NRCS these practices can also help pollinators, and other wildlife species, soil health, and water quality.
