Description

Leaves of the native northern red oak turn deep red to brown in fall. Planted as a shade tree, lawn tree, or timber production, it also provides good cover for nesting birds and mammals. Red oak acorns take 2 years to develop and are more bitter than white oak acorns, which are preferred by wildlife.  Provides wild turkey and other wildlife habitat.
