Description
Landscaping: Pawpaw is a deciduous understory tree. Purple cup shaped flowers bloom in spring. Green leaves change to yellow in the fall.
Wildlife: Raccoons, squirrels and opossums enjoy eating the fruit.
Economic: Fleshy fruit ripen in early fall and are edible. The fruit flavor is described as a cross between an apple and banana with the texture resembling a banana. Also called custard apples. Fruits are eaten raw or used in desserts.
