Eco-steward Invasive Garlic Mustard Removal at Waterfront Park

Join the East Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation and Kent Conservation District to help control and learn about invasive species in our community.

Volunteers are needed to help control several aggressive non-native invasive species, including garlic mustard, at Waterfront Park. Treatment will involve pulling and bagging targeted species growing unchecked.

Learn about nonnative invasive species that alter ecosystem processes in complex ways. All ages are invited to attend. The day will be led by Kent Conservation District’s STRIKE team.

Volunteers are welcome to stay for an hour or the entire morning. Wear long sleeves, pants and closed toed shoes. All snacks, supplies, gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided by the strike team.
