Conservation Showcase & Dinner

March 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

All are cordially invited to Kent Conservation District’s Annual Showcase and Dinner on Wednesday, March 13th, 6 pm at the Kent Career Technical Center. The Showcase presentation, Why Farmland Preservation and Invasive Species Control, will bring attention to how local residents and Kent County Townships are stepping up to preserve our natural resources.
  • The program will be followed by a special Regional Conservation Partnership Program announcement on how landowners in the Rogue River and Indian Mill Creek Watershed can take advantage of an additional $2.8 Million in available funding for conservation practices. You will not want to miss hearing more about this exciting partnership between NRCS and the Grand Valley Metro Council which will increase the availability of conservation financial assistance to improve wildlife habitat and water quality on the lower Grand River.
  • The showcase will also help landowners learn more about the many resources available to Kent Conservation District residents. These services include the NRCS administered Farm Bill that offers easement programs to eligible landowners to conserve working agricultural lands, wetlands, grasslands and forestlands, the Forestry Assistance Program, and the Conservation Technical Assistance Initiative. By the end of the event you will be able to better describe what a conservation district is.  District staff wants to remedy that and plan to be on hand to answer questions and educate our residents on what services we do provide.
